Warcraft 3 mod starcraft 13/7/2024 However, the problems remain: Warcraft III is IMBALANCED. Much much easier on your hand, much easier than having to do what you'd have to do in SC, select each unit individually (probably with mouse clicks or click and drag since if you have 6 ghosts hotkeyed individually, I guess you're not working on anything except that fight, eh?) R*click*, R*click*, R*click*, R*click*, R*click* R*click* Now, Warcraft 3 allows for custom keyboard shortcuts, so you can make Ensnare anything, so let's just say it's R. The first ensnare will be done by the first Raider, and the second will be done by the second until each one has performed the action once. In Warcraft 3, if you have 6 raiders and you want to ensnare 6 enemy units.Select all 6 raiders, Which you can have selected among other units and just tab to that subgroup to use them, and hit Ensnare. The required keystrokes would be 1L*click*, 2L*click,* 3L*click*, 4L*click, 5L*click*, and finally 6L*click* You need to SELECT EACH GHOST INDIVIDUALLY or else they will ALL shoot the SAME target? Let's assume you're lucky enough to have them all hotkeyed: (which you wouldn't, but if you did,) The best part of this is that it's easier to do than in Starcraft, thanks to autocasting, subgroup-selecting, and better AI.Ħ ghosts want to lockdown 6 carriers in Starcraft. It requires using your heroes skillfully and intelligently, using unit abilities, and other such things. It has a smaller unit cap, less expansions involved in the map and game, units take longer to build, units take longer to die, the whole upkeep thing to prevent massing, etc. ![]() Multiple-building select, rally point to a hero? You want to reinforce your army? It takes about 4 keystrokes and no mouse movement to make units from 12 buildings.įact: Losing units is much worse in Warcraft III than in Starcraft.įact: Warcraft III has a "idle worker" button, something Starcraft would need much more than War3, but hey, at least it's implemented. Rally points for miners make them go start cutting wood when you build them. I personally DON'T like this anymore, since I realized that with my ~140 APM, I could play War III much easier.įact: Warcraft III has many tools that make playing the game easier. Whether this is a good thing or not is debatable. Starcraft is very balanced, not perfect, but damn good, and it is one of the greatest RTS games ever played.įact: Starcraft requires higher APM. It's good as a light RPG, like in those maps where you walk around with the hero and nothing else, whacking critters.ġ00 unit supply with almost each unit taking up at least 2, and 15 for heroes (3, at least, I generally play with 3 since I generally play human) ends up with you having 2-3 groups of units. ![]() Looks like a WC3 clone to me.Įdit: I lost myself in my ranting in the first paragraph and forgot to mention that I do like WC3 - just not as an RTS. Sadly, I doubt Starcraft II will follow in its footsteps, judging from the sample videos. Might sound fanboyish and clichéed, but I really do think Starcraft is (one of) the greatest RTS games ever made. Starcraft, though, is (almost) perfectly balanced. In WC2, they had 60 hp and did around 10 damage, if memory serves. A standard grunt has 700 hp? And does like, what, 15 damage? Seriously, who thought of these stats? A 1on1 grunt fight takes FOREVER. The heroes unbalance the whole deal and downplay the role of force management, and combat just takes ages in general. Warcraft III in my eyes is incredibly flawed when it comes to strategic playing. And I much preferred Warcraft II to Warcraft III.
